The Community Foundation Advantage
Sound Asset Management
For more than 45 years, PACF has expertly managed millions of philanthropic dollars; we currently manage more than $25.5 million in assets for our region. We were here yesterday, we are here today, and we will be here, in our community, for good, forever.
Tax-Smart
Becoming a member of our donor family offers your clients an easy way to accomplish their charitable dreams. As a partner in giving, they can receive the simplicity and tax advantages of a public charity combined with the level of involvement and flexibility they desire.
Cost-Savings
If each individual fund operated independently and had to recreate our services, the price tag would be huge. Instead, each fund shares the costs of a knowledgeable, service-oriented staff and investment advisors. The result? Significant savings for your clients.
Convenience
We make charitable giving easy. The Community Foundation performs due diligence on nonprofit organizations, issues grant checks and award letters, and issues fund activity reports at agreed upon frequencies.
Community Expertise
Our staff’s knowledge of pressing issues and nonprofit organizations throughout West Virginia is unmatched. In fact, our small staff possesses more than 35 years of combined experience at our organization working closely with groups in the full range of nonprofit fields – education, youth development, health care, arts and culture, emergency services, and more. We help your clients maximize the impact of their charitable gifts.
Independent and Transparent
Our staff receives no fees for assets under management, nor is their compensation tied to any sort of transactional measure. Their only interest is your client’s and our community’s interests.
Competent and Professional
Our organization is one of those nationwide who have been recognized as attaining the highest standards of practice. We are certified as in compliance with the National Standards of the Council on Foundations for Community Foundations. And, our staff is nationally recognized for its dedication to the field as our Executive Director was elected by her peers to a term of office on the Community Foundations Leadership Team of the National Council on Foundations. Four of our five staff hold master’s level degrees.
Local
We live where you live; we care about this community. In the end, the clear advantage of working with our organization is our orientation to home; this sets us apart from commercial gift funds. We aim to meet local needs, current and emerging. The small fee that paid to our operation as an administrative fee is another level of charitable contribution that helps to sustain our capacity to offer programs that strengthen our area. Because people who care about OUR community give back through the Foundation, we all can look forward to a more promising future.
